Notes

"This book is both a fragment of, and an extension to, the work "Emergency" (1998) by Alfredo Jaar. It is a collection of texts in which twenty-five African writers reflect on what Africa is, and what it means for them at this time"--Prelim.

"'Emergency', the work by Alfredo Jaar with which this museum of the 21st century is to be inaugurated, aims to be a direct and raw illustration of one of the most serious conflicts humanity faces in this century"--Prelim.
