Varney's midwifery

Encompassing the entire scope of midwifery practice, this text covers the provision of primary care to women from puberty to senescence, including the maternity cycle and primary care of the well newborn. This fourth edition is revised to reflect the scope of current practice, with new chapters on nutrition, pharmacology and midwifery, international midwifery and safe motherhood, cultural competence, and common diagnoses in women's gynecological health. There are also new skills chapters on endometrial biopsy and birth positions. Varney teaches nurse-midwifery at Yale University School of Nursing.
