"Vergil's poem on agriculture has often been overshadowed by the Aeneid but is a fascinating work in its own right. This volume collects ten papers, written between 1970 and 1995 by leading classical scholars, and is meant as an invitation to (re)discover Vergil's didactic work through recent developments in Vergilian criticism."--Jacket.
