Summary
In this thesis report, the performance evaluation of production systems has been studied, to create an internal benchmarking. The idea of this thesis is to apply performance evaluation based on Little's Law with simulation modeling for an entire production system. The scope of the thesis includes a case study which consists of an assembly line with sub-assemblies for testing the proposed method. After analyzing the problem, computer simulation was chosen as the methodology for modeling the production system. Considering the data collection, and making the simulation model for the thesis, it has been estimated that the project could be completed within a period of four months. The deliverable of this thesis is a graphical method that can evaluate the performance of the company and also finding out if Little's Law performance evaluation is applicable to real case problems.
