This book gives a coherent account of the theory of Banach spaces and Banach lattices, using the spaces C_0(K) of continuous functions on a locally compact space K as the main example. The study of C_0(K) has been an important area of functional analysis for many years. It gives…

This book offers a systematic treatment of a classic topic in Analysis. It fills a gap in the existing literature by presenting in detail the classic ?-Hölder condition and introducing the notion of locally Hölder-continuous function in an open set ? in Rn. Further, it provides …
"This book covers the construction, analysis, and theory of continuous nowhere differentiable functions, comprehensively and accessibly. After illuminating the significance of the subject through an overview of its history, the reader is introduced to the sophisticated toolkit o…

The proposed book provides a comprehensive coverage of theory and methods in the areas of continuous optimization and variational inequality. It describes theory and solution methods for optimization with smooth and non-smooth functions, for variational inequalities with single-…
There are two long outstanding constructivity problems concerning real-valued functions on the closed unit interval: (i) is every function continuous? (ii) is every continuous function uniformly continuous? In this paper the method of reliefs is introduced to aid the study of th…
