The goal of this thesis is to develop statistical and learning algorithms for the design, analysis, measurement, and modeling of networking and security systems with specific focus on RFID systems, network performance metrics, user security, and software security. Next, I give a…

Stream programming is a paradigm where a program is structured by a set of computational nodes connected by streams. Focusing on data moving between computational nodes via streams, this programming model fits well for applications that process long sequences of data. We call su…

The focus of this study was to determine if there were gender differences in terms of accuracy and latency of performance on visual-spatial tasks. A second objective was to determine if there were gender differences in confidence in visual-spatial performance. The study was base…

Building responsive cloud applications is critical to ensuring a compelling user experience. While cloud computing promises to deliver IT services at a lower cost and increased scalability, meeting the strict requirements on response time for performance-sensitive applications i…

Thirty-five years after its exposure, HIV is still a global health threat with millions of new infections annually. The goal of our research is to stop the global spread of HIV, first by preventing new HIV infections and then by working to cure existing infections. Chapter one r…
