The subject of this volume is limited in that it addresses amphiphiles at liquid/air, liquid/liquid, and liquid/solid interfaces, with litte attention paid to vapor/solid interfaces. This volume will serve to summarize our current understanding of interfacial structure at the mo…
Addresses amphiphiles at liquid/air, liquid/liquid, and liquid/solid interfaces, colloidal systems such as micellar solutions, microemulsions, emulsions, dispersions, slurries, etc., as well as flows at and wetting of macroscopic interfaces. Aids understanding of interfacial str…

"Bridging the gap between theory and application, this book will be invaluable to anyone wishing to broaden their knowledge of applied chemistry, including students on A level, BTEC and technician courses. It will also be of benefit to those new to the formulation industry."--Ja…
Chemical formulation can be traced back to Stone Age times, when hunter-gatherers attached flint arrowheads to shafts using a resin made from birch bark and beeswax. Today, formulated preparations are part of everyday life. Formulations based on surfactants are by far the most p…
"This up-to-date reference presents a comprehensive survey of important anionic surfactants - delineating the latest manufacturing technologies, current methods of analysis, practical applications, environmental behavior, and the physicochemical and toxicological properties of s…
An understanding of the fate and behaviour of organic chemicals, such as surfactants, in the environment is a prerequisite for the sustainable development of human health and ecosystems. As surfactants are being produced in huge amounts, it is important to have a detailed knowle…
