This text linguistic study investigates both the literary device of parallelism and the linguistic theory of the semantic field in ancient Hebrew literature. The purpose of the study is to examine whether or not a semantically related pair of verbs or predicate phrases that impl…

There are many computational kernels where parallelism can be exploited in applica- tion specific hardware, yielding significant speedup over a general purpose processor based solution. Commodity cluster computing technologies have been combined with FPGA co-processors, resultin…

Emerging multimedia applications demand faster and more flexible digital video coding. While hardware-based implementations are usually fast, the flexibility offered by software and the growing speed of general-purpose processors make software solutions promising alternatives. H…

The often fragmentary Aramaic texts preserved by the Qumran community represent a large collection of well edited texts, whose publications have triggered numerous contributions that have brought a significantly clearer understanding of them. Little attention, however, has been …

This dissertation is divided into six chapters. Chapter one provides an introduction. Chapter two treats methodological concerns. Chapter three is titled "Semantic Nuances of the Term (n/a): Paradigmatic and Syntagmatic Analyses." Chapter four discusses "Literary and Poetic Anal…

With advances in semiconductor technology, processors are becoming larger and more complex. Future processor designers will face an enormous design space, and must evaluate more architecture design points to reach a final optimum design. This exploration is currently performed u…
