Summary

This study was conducted to evaluate the efficiency of multimedia software, created by the researcher, in teaching the division operation, including definitions, examples, exercises, and tests, for fourth grade students from the Al Huda Islamic School. All students took a pretest at the beginning of the study and a posttest after four weeks of using a computer program in their regular school classroom. The tests included equivalent forms of division operation problems in which the students had 45 minutes to answer 20 questions presented in a three-page booklet. The posttest scores of the students participating in this experiment were significantly higher than the pretest scores. An analysis of pretest and posttest scores indicated that the multimedia software was effective in improving knowledge and gaining advanced skills in performing the division operation.
